About Mining and Civil Geotest

Mining and Civil Geotest Pty Ltd was established in 2006 to service clients in the geotechnical consulting, civil construction and mining industries.

The business has grown rapidly since its inception and is now one of the most highly regarded materials testing laboratories in Western Australia.

Our current client base includes most of the major geotechnical consulting groups with offices in Western Australia, along with the larger materials suppliers to the civil construction industry.

The company is co-owned by Kevin Jones and Greg Bilton. Kevin has over 30 years experience in the materials testing industry. His career began in 1980 with Main Roads WA in the Pilbara region working in remote laboratories. He moved in to private industry in 1992 where he quickly established a rapore with clients, many of whom continue to be clients of Mining and Civil Geotest. He is also an assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities in the field of Construction materials testing.

Greg is an Engineering Geologist with over 25 years experience in both Mining, Civil Geotechnical Consulting and materials testing. His professional experience provides MCG the unique ability to provide clients additional geotechnical information regarding their samples.

Mining & Civil Geotest encourages active client liaison, the interaction provides valuable technical advice to clients.

We believe our policy of engaging Civil and Mining engineering students on a part time basis gives students valuable experience in the field of materials testing. Feedback from graduates who have now successfully gained employment in the industry is that prospective employers see the exposure to the laboratory environment as must have skills.
